The Logo and its Meaning
The logo reflects the mission that Operation Care Ministry is committed to. Beginning at the left, the red circle with a large letter C represents Jesus, being the chief healer, who spent much of his time healing those who suffered from various diseases. “When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them” (Luke 4:40).
The green inverted replica represents man, being embraced by the spirit of the sovereign Lord to preach the good news to the poor. Long before this event in the life of Jesus, Isaiah had prophesied that the ministry of the Messiah would be one not only of teaching but also of comforting and healing those in need. Isaiah wrote: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair… (Isaiah 61:1-3).
The totality of the logo claims to follow Christ to respond with compassion to the hurt and sick people. As they are being led to Christ, Operation Care Ministry aims to live Him in the lives of the volunteers and with the treatment that is offered, the preaching of the gospel is not hard to grasp. When they see that they are being cared for, their hearts will open for the Gospel. “… Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter- when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? …Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; You will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings." Isaiah 58:7-12
